Facilities

The Jane Tomlinson Sportshall

The sports hall was opened by Jane Tomlinson in 2007. It is used by many community groups, parents and carers, extended services, our primary schools, sports external clubs such as cricket, netball, basketball.

It has climbing wall, cricket nets and a dividing curtain meaning it has dual usage. It is always busy with an extensive extra curricula programme on offer for the pupils between 2.30pm and 4.30pm and often beyond. We also have a dance studio, fitness suite, multi use games area and an all weather pitch (astro).

The Sportshall, Theatre, Fitness Suite and MUGA are open every break and lunch for pupils to take part in recreational sporting activities.

The Robinson Refectory

The Robinson Refectory was opened in 2010, by Jason Robinson, when he visited Carr Manor High School to launch the new Robinson House. The refectory is used by staff and pupils at break and lunch times. Healthy hot and cold food is prepared fresh daily on the school premises by Chartwells catering.

Bremner Library

The Bremner library is enjoyed by pupils for a variety of reasons during the school day. For example, the ‘Wide a Wake Club’ meet in there first thing in a morning, pupils read during break times and classes often make use of the excellent ICT facilities.

Trueman Theatre

The Trueman theatre is mainly used for assemblies and presentation events. It is also a dance and sports space used for core PE/PA lessons, gymnastics clubs, tabletennis and trampolining. At key times of the year the Theatre is also used for formal examinations.

Fitness Suite

The Fitness Suite is available for staff, pupils and parents to use. The suite is equipped with top of the range exercise facilities.
